Step of the Apostle Paul

In the center of Veria, near the Clock Square, lies the “Step of Apostle Paul.”

There, Apostle Paul preached Christianity to the notable Jewish community of the city between 50–60 AD during his journey from Thessaloniki. The original 1st-century steps where the Apostle stood are still preserved.

This monument attracts many visitors, especially in June during the festive events called “Pavleia,” which culminate on June 28th and 29th, the feast days of the Apostles Peter and Paul.
