Museum of Contemporary Art “Konstantinos Xenakis Gallery”
Dedicated to the work of beknown artist Konstantinos Xenakis
The Museum of Contemporary Art “Konstantinos Xenakis Gallery” is located in Serres, housed in a building within the former Papaloukas military camp. It was inaugurated in May 2002 and bears both the name and the artistic legacy of Konstantinos Xenakis (1931–2020), showcasing 171 loaned works from the artist himself and other donors.
Xenakis’ postmodern artistic language blends movement, sound, electromagnetism, and graphic elements. The museum features digital applications, including virtual tours, digital artwork displays, and educational games, while its architectural design makes it nearly energy self-sufficient. It is also fully accessible to people with disabilities, offering Braille signage, tactile exhibits, subtitles, and sign language support.
Beyond its primary purpose of exhibiting and promoting the work of Konstantinos Xenakis, the museum also aims to become a cultural and educational hub for the region.
